Sid Meier's Civilization VI

base game is a husk. you need rise and fall plus gathering storm to make it feel finished, which is a wild thing to say about a game thats almost a decade old at this point. once you have all that its great. AI still builds 4 cities and stops, still declares war on you for settling a tundra hex 30 tiles from their border, still cant manage a navy. but i played a 9 hour game last weekend and didnt notice the time so
