This game came out so long ago, yet it still stands strong. For a solo developer in gamemaker, Toby Fox has made a really wholesome game that let's you pick your own endings without even realizing it

A small child falls into the Underground, where monsters have long been banished by humans and are hunting every human that they find. The player controls the child as they try to make it back to the Surface through hostile environments, all the while engaging with a turn-based combat system with puzzle-solving and bullet hell elements, as well as other unconventional game mechanics.

sans fight still owns
the sans fight is the only time a game has made me put the controller down and walk around my kitchen for a minute. went pacifist first and i think that's the only correct way to do it. papyrus is my friend forever. some of the jokes didn't land for me but when it works it really works

sans fight still holds up
replayed it last week to see if it still worked on me and yeah. the sans fight is a puzzle disguised as a boss disguised as a bit. the writing goes for a joke and then sticks the knife in while you're laughing. i don't think any other game has made me feel worse about grinding random encounters
